Atoma at TCF 2019
Atoma Technologies’ Business Development team travelled to Holland in April 2019, to attend the Temenos Community Forum (TCF) Conference. This year’s event was held at the vast purpose-built exhibition venue, The World Forum, at The Hague.
The World Forum played host to over 2,000 Temenos customers, partners and delegates from 114 countries at TCF 2019. Kicking off on 2nd April, attendees gathered to network, research and learn more about the broad range of applications available on the Temenos core banking platform.
The core theme of the event was centred on digital banking. During his opening speech at the event, Max Chuard, CEO of Temenos said: “We all share the same goal, to use technology to revolutionise banking. Our industry is at a time of change. We have more technology at our fingertips that ever before, opening up unlimited possibilities. Whether these are APIs [application programming interfaces], cloud or artificial intelligence – all of these create a need to move faster.”
During the conference, Atoma took to the stage in an engaging Open Theatre session, alongside their client KBC Bank, Ireland. Balázs Laki, Atoma’s Head of Product & Delivery, introduced Neale Foulds, Release Capability Manager for KBC Bank, who spoke candidly about his experiences in achieving continuous software delivery, using the Change Manager product.
Neale explained how this project was driven by the need to increase productivity, without impacting other business-critical aspects of the organisation. In utilising automation technologies, KBC Bank were able to realise significant time savings during deployment – thus minimising effort and increasing output.
Put succinctly, harnessing automation technologies enables financial institutions to do more, with less effort. Running customised legacy software, which cannot be easily upgraded, impacts productivity and profitability. Delegates at TCF 2019 benefitted from sharing a collective vision amongst the Temenos community of “Making Banking Better”. This vision has ushered in a new era of cloud-native, cloud-agnostic digital technology that is giving banks the freedom to be creative, the power to innovate continuously and the resilience to cut risk.
